Road trip to Shreveport...

The girls all decided to get together, load up the kids and take a trip to visit Joni and Abbey (Derik too).
We were outnumbered with 6 adults (my mom, me, Brenda, LeAnn, Lisa and Joni) to 8 kiddos (Ashlyn, Aly, Logan, Tyler, Brylee, Alexa, Ava and Abbey), but we had a blast. We rented hotel rooms at the Marriott on the Boardwalk and right outside the hotel was a carasoul ride...What a great 1st thing to do on the trip!

After the ride, we headed to the Boardwalk for some shopping and sun (did I mention it was 100 plus degrees)...

Yes, the divas (Alexa and Ava) had to have NEW sunglasses...

After some shopping, we decided lunch time at Fuddruckers...After ordering our food and sitting down, we realize their ac was broken...it was a horrible lunch, but everyone was troopers and made it through lunch with no problems...Then, back out to shop a little more...
After getting quite hot and sweaty, we took a break to do some indoor glow in the dark putt-putt...this was the first time the girls have ever experienced anything like this. I think Alexa, Ava and Abbey had more fun running around the courses then actually playing.
Of course you can't do the Boardwalk and not go to Bass Pro Shops...The girls must have got their 2nd winds, because they were 100 miles an hour in there...They enjoyed the elevator and the stairs and the fish and alligators...

To end the day off at the Boardwalk, we took the trolley ride back to our hotel...What a fun group!!!

You would think that would be enough and everyone would be ready for bed...ha ha...think again...The grandmas went gambling at the Horseshoe and the moms and kids went SWIMMING...the pool was about as hot as a hot tub...After a couple of hours of swimming, it was time for PIZZA...we ate in the lobby, that way someone else could clean up our mess...I am sure the hotel enjoyed it when we checked out :)
After that it was baths and bed...All the kids were asleep, the grandmas got back to the hotel and it was time for LeAnn, Joni and me to tear up the Horseshoe...
I don't want to brag, but each of us walked out with at least $100 more then we came with...Thanks Joni, for the successful gambling night
Bright and early the next morning we all got up ready, and headed to Ihop...For some reason Alexa and Ava decided they wanted to throw a fit, needless to say breakfast wasn't much fun...But after it was over, they were back to being their happy selves...
Time for more shopping...This time Aly decided to diva up the girls with some sunglasses...

Lunch was at Joes Crab Shack - Lisa, Ashlyn, Aly, Tyler and Logan celebrated their birthdays there!!! Then it was time for the Gator and Friends Park...
Alexa slept through most of it, but Ava loved it. She couldn't get enough of feeding the deer, zebras, and other animals...She even enjoyed watching them feed the gators..

Dentist Appointments...

I have to admit I was VERY nervous about the girls first dentist appointments. Ever since having the girls I have horrible anxiety problems when it comes to taking them in public. I have already decided that it is going to be a disaster before we even begin. For some reason I always plan for the worst going into every situation, especially situations involving people poking and prying on the girls. Usually my mom goes to most of the doctor appointments with me, with having 2 children, I need help holding or comforting one of the girls. So I assumed I would need extra help for the 1st dentist appt, so I was so happy when Mike said he could get off work and go with me. Our appointment was at 9:00, but they wanted us there a few minutes early for paperwork. We had everything filled out and were waiting in the waiting room.

Patient 1 goes in, 2 goes in, 3 goes in...then they come out...about 5 more people sign in and get called back, then leave...40 minutes later, we are still waiting. Now my anxiety is starting to get the best of me...Alexa and Ava have been angels, no freak outs, crying, throwing, biting...nothing, that means it must be coming soon (hence my anxiety)...The lady at the front desk I guess could tell I was beginning to worry, so she had told us that we have a new hygienist, and as soon as she is ready they will call us back. Now, I am a mess...Why would they give us a new hygienist? This is my girls 1st appointments, really? Mike calms me down and says everything will be fine, so I try to believe him and relax. After 45 mintues of waiting we are FINALLY called back. There is a special room where lil' ones get to go for their first appointment, the girls went right in and sat on the bench. Unfortunatly, 10 more minutes of waiting, the hygienist comes in, followed immediatly by the dentist (Dr. Bailey). I will let the picutres show how the rest of the appointment went...

Ava:

Yep, you are seeing right...they did WONDERFUL for the hygienist...Now however, it was time for the dentist...

Ava:

I know, wonderful again...All my stress, anxiety and worrying for nothing. I was so proud of both of my girls. It just seems time is going by too fast.

After the appointments and them both being so good, I promised I would take them swimming...Here's their reward:

July 2011

Long ago when I found out I was pregnant, I wanted to do something for my child to let them know what was happening in life. Then when we found out we were having twins, I was more motivated then ever...And what a better way then a blog with posts and pics...I am not always on time, and don't capture everything like I wanted, but what can I say...This is better then nothing :)

POTTY TRAINING - MARSHAS (MARSHMALLOWS)

This month, I decided to really give it a go and try potty training...I tried rewarding you girls with stickers, candy, hugs, kisses, and a million other things...then in my last resort, I asked Ava to go pick something out of the pantry and if she went potty I would give it to her. She grabbed a bag of marshmallows. So I sat her on the potty, she peed and asked for her marsha (at our house marshmallows are called marshas)...the rest is history, Ava, you were a piece of cake to potty train...I just need to remember to keep marshas handy, and we are in business...

Here are a couple pics of Ava

Then there is Alexa...Girl, you are so hard headed (you must get that from your mommy). You want the marshmallows, but REFUSE to sit on the potty...I hate watching you throw huge fits, it just breaks my heart when I give Ava a marshmallow and not you. Well, when you are ready, you will have your turn with potty and marshas.

You girls also had your 2 year old appointments...You girls couldn't be more perfect...Excellent weight, height, etc. I love when we have appointments with no shots!

A huge surprise this month was a trampoline. I was a little worried the girls may be too young for one, but boy was I wrong. They love it...They play Ring Around the Rosey...Jump, flop and fall. I have so much fun watching them. We do have a cover on order for it, just hasn't come in yet.

With this month being so hot, we have spent quite a bit of time inside and in the pool...Here's a few random fun pics of things we did this month.
