Mainstay Farm

What a super awesome Pumpkin Patch we went to this year! Mainstay Farm did an outstanding job of providing loads of fun for all of us! We will be heading back there next year, no doubt.

I don't even know where to start - here's what we did:

Pictures - need family photos! Why, because I love pictures and love the memories associated with them! Of course G-Ma and G-Mark came with us, we needed extra help with our 2 crazy munchkins!

HUGE bounce pillow - the thing was so big you didn't even notice how crowded it was. Ava cried while she was on it, then when she would get off, cry to get back on. Not sure what her problem was. Alexa however, had a blast. She was bouncing, landing on her bottom, rolling around, running, she loved it! As you can see in the second pic, Ava is on the right, mouth WIDE open, not enjoying it!

Next we headed over for a hay ride. I would have taken pics, but I had to hold a girl, so I can just say it was AWESOME! The girls sat on hay and looked out, and pointed to the bees and their honey, then they yelled about the Christmas trees, it was so fun.

We got off at the top of the hill. Did I mention Mainstay farm was huge, so even though there were tons of people it never felt crowded? As I was saying, we hopped off at the top of the hill and headed to the play area. Huge playground with slides, ropes, mazes, swings, and so on. Thanks G-Mark, for pushing Alexa and Ava on the swing. They had so much fun doing it. They looked like such a big independent person swinging!

There were also some bikes that G-Mark took the girls around the lap on. Again, Alexa really enjoyed it, Ava, not so much...

They also had some cute cute pumpkins set up that was great photo ops, however, the girls were just too hyped about all the fun exciting things to do, so I got a couple of pics, nothing great though...

Boo at the Zoo, with a Pre-School Preview

Well, it's about that time..
Time for me to quit being an overprotective parent, and allow my kids to be watched by a complete stranger. Just the thought makes ne nervous, panicky, overwhelmed. I know, my girls are 2 and it's time for me to let them venture out into the real world! They are ready, unfortunalty I am not :( Mike and I agreed that begining in January I would go back to work full time, and the girls would do pre-school Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.
With that being said, I have been looking on-line, calling around, but not going and visiting anywhere. So this Friday morning, I took a leap and actually visited the school we were most interested in.
The teachers and staff were great. They encouraged Mike and I to bring the girls in for the visit, to let them get a feel and see how they reacted. As soon as we went to where their 2 year old class will be, the girls were so excited. They both wanted to stay and were upset when it was time to leave. There are 2 teachers and 3 boys and 1 girl; so adding 2 more girls will round this class out!

Remember, we are just looking and will not start until January. Yeah right, after a half hour, we were signed up and starting in November. I know, I can't believe it! I am so excited and sad, my babies are growing up and so ready for this huge new adventure!
Now onto getting prepared, nap mats, lunch boxes, back packs...the girls are so estatic with all this new fun "school stuff." Every morning they ask if they get to go to school today. Lets hope this attitude stays as positive when the actually begin going. We are starting out Mon and Fri parital days, and my mom will still keep them Tues-Thurs. Then when I go back full January, and they will go full days Mon, Wed and Fri.

I will keep you posted on this...Our first day is November 4th...Sure a huge blog with lots of pics will follow!

For the rest of the day...BOO AT THE ZOO...

Mike took off work half a day and we headed to the Fort Worth Zoo. The girls wore their Halloween Costumes, and thought they were the coolest cat around! As always, the Fort Worth Zoo is amazing they always out-do themselves and make it just a special place for us. The girls HAVE to see the monkeys, so we spent about a half hour there, then time for Boo to open. No long lines, little crowds, great costumes by all the kids, we had a blast! Ava was off, she couldn't wait to play the games, bean bag toss, football throw, she was all over the place. Alexa however was more interested in heading to the candy stands. Guess she wanted to make sure they didn't run out of candy :)

The pics are what you are interesred in, so I will quit typing and show off my Doctors.

State Fair 2011

Where does the time go? This weekend is the last weekend the 2011 State Fair will be here. Well, being the last minute people we are, we decided to tackle the fair on Thursday evening after work. We loaded up and headed out to Fair Park. The weather was great! First things first...Fletchers Corn Dog!!! The only way to start the fair out right. The girls chowed down and loved it, Mike and I enjoyed ours too :)

Then to the Bird Show. The girls were able to keep up with most of the birds and what was going on. They really enjoyed picking them out and pointing when they found one.
Then off to the Pig Races. So much fun, we screamed and cheered our pig on! The girls laughed, clapped and cheered with us! Of course, we have to get a funnel cake, because they are in the same building as the pig races...so healthy meal 2 - check -
Of course we had to visit the animal petting area. Alexa and Ava love animals, petting, feeding, watching, it doesn't matter, they could have stayed in here for hours!

Next to the parade. Probably Alexa and Ava's favorite part! They were mesmerized by the floats, people and horses. Alexa wanted to see it again after they passed by.
We also found this real cute farm where they put an apron on the girls and they got to walk through the process of how farms and crops are done. It was so cool, from feeding with corn to milking a cow, the entire set up was a great experience. Not to mention after done, they were able to sale their crops and go to the store and buy something in there. Ava picked out Animal Crackers and Alexa picked a Granola Bar.

The girls were even tall enough to ride 2 rides this year. The choo-choo train, and Dumbo. Alexa and Ava wanted to ride every one out there, maybe next year, this year they were about 4 inches too short. To end the evening, we had to have 1 more thing to eat, french fries! I would say we got all 4 food groups in, wouldn't you...Fried, Fried, Grease, and Grease...
We had a blast at the fair, the girls have grown so much, its amazing to watch how they interact, understand and learn. I am sure when we head back next year it will be even more exciting!

Party Time!!!

Here lately, birthday parties are a huge thing for the girls. I am not sure if they think it is for them, or they just enjoy getting to do something different with all their favorite people.
(On a side note, Amy and Joni gave such great gift bags for the girls, it is no wonder they think the parties are for them! Thank you guys so much for the cookies, lollipops, toys, etc.)
I got off track, back to the parties -
Addison turned 3, and had an awesome party at Pump it Up. The bounce houses and slides were so much fun. Both Alexa and Ava were sweating by the time the drinks, cake and presents rolled out. Thanks so much Amy and Byron for planning a fun party, the girls really enjoyed it!

Then a couple of weeks later, we got to attend another bounce house birthday party. Going Apes, be ready, because here we come. The girls love bounce houses, and after celebrating Addi's birthday, they knew exactly what to do. We had a great time celebrating Abbey's 2nd Birthday! The girls have been singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ABBEY for a week now!
