This has been a super busy weekend. My aunt Lisa texted me that her granddaughter Ashlyn was singing 3 songs at Art in the Park, and invited us. Saturday morning we headed out and met everyone at Art in the Park. Ashlyn did AMAZING, she is in 6th grade, and has CRAZY talent...she may have even sang Taylor Swift's song better than Taylor. The second song they did a little production, and danced and sang, it was super cute...then she closed out the show by singing Walking After Midnight...and nailed it...This girls has great talent and I can't wait to see what she does with her future.

After Art in the Park, we came home changed clothes and headed to Sonic...The girls were being a complete hoot. Ava kept shakin' her booty and Alexa was dancing all over the place. I don't know what they were thinking, but for some reason the kept dancing on the firetruck for Burt and Ernie...

On Sunday when we woke up, we decided since it was going to be a beautiful day, we headed to the zoo. It was great, all the animals were active and making noises, such a great day.
The penguins were swimming around like crazy, the girls kept laughing at them
Alexa and Ava just had to sit on the elephant statue
And had to hold hands with the kangaroos...

The bears were playing like crazy. They were chasing and jumping all over each other. We could have stayed and watched that all day, it was very entertaining.
Ava was so excited to see the elephant, like on Tarzan...yeah, you would think she would want to see monkeys, since that is who Tarzan lives with...but, she loves the elephant in the movie.
Growing up my mom always took a pic of me and my brother at the mountain lions. For the longest time they have had this exhibit closed, but it is finally open again. I tried getting the girls to turn around, but the mountain lion in the background keeps trying to jump and grab the leaves off the tree, so they wanted to watch.
When we got to Texas, it was a crazy moment. The girls were playing in the barn part and next thing I know Alexa is crying...I run up to her and she says, I was having too much fun and I peepeed...PANIC...we had no spare clothes with us, they were in the car...so I take her to the bathroom and clean her up, then Mike sits on the bench outside with towels wrapped around Alexa and they have snacks, while I run to the car...Did I mention Texas is probably the farthest spot away from the exit, well, it is...Finally I got back, we dressed Alexa and kept telling her accidents happen, this isn't a big deal, and we go get some blue bell ice cream...after everyone calmed down and ate their ice cream, we decided to ride the train.
The girls were so excited, they LOVE trains...
After the train ride we headed to MOLA, then headed on home...
I thought by the time we got home the girls would be exhausted, but not Alexa...She was wired...Ava slept for almost 3 hours, and Alexa and I played...It was such a fun day, and that night we decided to cook out outside and play...
We are going through this crazy Princess dress up phase, and Ava dressed herself before heading out to play.
All in all, these are my favorite kinds of weekends...I love spending time with my family...Sometimes I get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of life, and forget just how truly blessed I am...
