It's a BOY...

Well the time has finally come to determine the gender of Peanut.
My C-Section was scheduled for the morning of February 11, 2013.
We got to the hospital about 5:30am, with very little sleep. There were so many thoughts running through my mind the night before; is it a boy or girl, will this baby be healthy, how are the girls going to react, etc. The hospital L&D was empty. No babies were being born at this time. With that said the nursing staff was bored and ready for me. I had about 4-5 nurses preparing me for the OR. One was doing IV, one was hooking up leg compressions, one checking blood pressure, one hooking up the baby monitor and so on. It didn't take long at all and I was prepared for my 7:30 C-Section. My OBGYN stopped by around 6:30 and asked how I was feeling. Then he talked to the head nurse for a minute and left. The next thing I know it's 7:00 and they are asking if I'm about ready, because my Dr would like to get started. Then the an anesthesiologist came in, explained what he was going to do and it was time to make my way to the OR.
We made the short walk and the next thing I know, I'm on the table getting a spinal tap. Then the nurses and my doctor come in and a few minutes later, Mikes there. I remember asking Mike if he thinks boy or girl and Dr. Froeschke said wait a minute and he'll let us know.
Then very calm and in a low voice I heard him say "it's a BOY!!!" I couldn't believe my ears. A boy, and he was perfect. Lucas Cash Griese
7:28 am
8.4 pounds
20.5 inches
They took Lucas to the cleaning station, and my parents and both sets of grandparents, and Alexa and Ava were outside the window patiently awaiting Mike to tell them boy or girl. Mike just smiled and gave them a thumbs up. After a couple of minutes (which G-Ma said more like forever) Mike finally came out and announced it 's a BOY!
After admiring him, my parents took the girls to school so they didn't have to sit in the boring hospital all day. They had pencils to hand out to all their classmates saying its a boy. They are such proud big sisters!
Of course, the next couple of days consisted of nurses, visitors and feedings and pooping... Then we finally headed home on the evening of February 13th.

Ava and Alexa's Princess Tea Party

Since we are about to have a new addition to our family, I decided to take the girls out for a 1 on 1 date. Ava went on Thursday and Alexa got to go on Friday. I found a boutique in Grapevine that allows moms to come in and bring their daughter for dress up, make up, cupcakes and tea. I thought this was right up the girls alley. The girls both tried on every dress while they were there. It took them at least 30 minutes before we could be seated to start the tea party. While there, and on both days, the service was horrible, the cupcakes weren't good, however we made the best of it and still enjoyed our time. To finish off the days. Ava decided to stop by chickfila and have lunch. Alexa wanted to stop and see the trains!
I love these girls to death, they truly are amazing gifts from God.

Baking and a Birthday Party

The girls have really enjoyed cooking and baking lately. They are always asking what they get to help make when I pick them up from school. Today we made chocolate oatmeal cookies!I think Ava eats more then she ends up making.

Also, Saturday morning we woke up and got ready for Gus' birthday party. He had country critters come to his house. The girls loved the animals! The Donaho's sure do know how to throw a birthday party!!!
